WELCOME TO...
QUINCY SWIM TEAM
As part of the WENATCHEE VALLEY SUMMER SWIM LEAGUE, we welcome fun-loving swimmers of all abilities.
Beginner swimmers who meet the league’s minimum required skill level of being able to swim 25 yards with two different strokes, will improve their strokes and learn swim meet protocol.
Intermediate swimmers, refine their strokes and develop endurance, supporting sports participation during school months.
Highly competitive swimmers of year round clubs are welcome. They enjoy a low-key swim experience while their expertise encourages others to excel. Two scoring divisions allow fair yet exciting competition between these diverse swimmer groups.
The Wenatchee Valley Summer Swim League (WVSSL) has provided children of the greater Wenatchee area since 1987. This six week competitive, but recreational, summer swim experience depends on hundreds of volunteers to offer this program for about 500 swimmers. Community teams include: Cashmere, EWAC-East Wenatchee Aquatic Center, Ephrata, Quincy, Leavenworth, Waterville, WRAC-Wenatchee Racquet & Athletic Club.
PRACTICES begin mid June, as soon as school is out for summer. Each team determines their own practice schedule during the season. Workouts give kids a chance for perfecting their swim skills, improving their fitness and experiencing the fun of being part of a team
PARENTS & VOLUNTEERS assist with a wide range of activities, from league administration, as timers, stroke and turn judges, to getting relay swimmers lined up and to the course for their events.
MEET SCHEDULE includes six-weeks of dual meets as well as the League Championships on the last Saturday in July. Meets are highly social for parents and swimmers, just good old-fashioned fun for everyone.
